On-device AI · No account · Works offline
Danish tax and pension answers for your case, in your language.
An AI on your iPhone answers from official sources. Your questions never leave the device.
- Keep your data private, with no account and nothing we or Apple can read.
- Turn on Airplane Mode and it still works, because the app never goes online.
- Ask about your own situation, and get the answer in your language.
- Use your real numbers instead of making some up for ChatGPT.
- Check every answer against its official source and the calculator's working.
Needs iPhone 15 Pro or newer, iOS 26.1 or later, and Apple Intelligence.
- Searched the tax-year 2026 rules stored on your iPhone
- Found Skat's rule for working without a tax card
- Matched the answer to Skat's own sentence

“Why was I taxed ~55% on my first Danish payslip instead of ~38%?”
If you don’t have a tax card (skattekort), Skat says you pay 55% on your salary. Your employer must also withhold 8% AM-bidrag. Get a card via TastSelv (forskudsopgørelse) or form 04.063 — Skat sends it to your employer. A rate near 38% is only an example once a card is in place; yours depends on your assessment. Too much withheld is usually sorted on the årsopgørelse.
| No tax card (Skat’s stated rate) | 55% |
|---|---|
| Labour market contribution (AM-bidrag) | + 8% |
| With a tax card (example only) | ≈ 38% |
“If you don’t have a tax card, you will pay 55% in taxes on your salary.”

Private from the first question
Pengeklar runs entirely on your iPhone. It never connects to the internet, and there's no account.
- No. 01
On your iPhone only
The AI is Apple's on-device model. Your questions, payslips and answers are never sent anywhere.
- No. 02
Only you can read it
Your data is encrypted with a key that never leaves this iPhone. Not even we or Apple can open it, and backups can't be opened on another device.
- No. 03
Check it yourself
Turn on Airplane Mode and ask anything. Or turn on App Privacy Report in Settings, then use Pengeklar: it should list no websites the app contacted, other than Apple's for the App Store and subscriptions.
| What we compare | Cloud chatbot or cloud tax app | Pengeklar |
|---|---|---|
| Where the answer runs | Their servers | Your iPhone |
| Can the company see it and tie it to you? | Yes, through your account, login or device | No. There's no account, and we never receive your chats or documents. |
| Who can read your chats? | The company, and depending on the service, staff who review chats | Only you, on your unlocked iPhone |
| What that means | Your salary, family and ID numbers become part of your history with that company | Those details stay on your iPhone. We never see them. |
“Delete all my data” in Settings erases everything in one step. We earn from the subscription, and there's no data to sell. App updates, including new tax rules, come from the App Store. Tapping a source opens the official page in Safari. The waitlist email on this site is separate from the app. Subscriptions go through Apple, and we don't get your tax data from them.
You've probably tried these already
Pengeklar is for the moment after you've tried a search engine, Skat's English PDF and a careful chatbot paste, and still don't trust the answer or the trail it leaves.
| What people try | Why it falls short |
|---|---|
| Agency sites like skat.dk and borger.dk | Authoritative, but mostly in Danish and form-heavy. You can't ask them about your situation in your language.Skat's own English guide calls the system “a complicated matter of rules and laws” and makes checking your figures your duty. (Skat, Tax in Denmark, 2021 (PDF)) |
| Cross-border guides | Good explainers, but they can't count your remote days or work out your salary.Since 2025, the Øresund test is 50% of your working days in every rolling 12-month period, with holiday and sick days counted. (Øresunddirekt) |
| Cloud AI chatbots | Fast and multilingual, but your details can be kept with your account. No tested Danish calculators, and rules can be out of date.In a 2025 study, ChatGPT answered 39–47% of common tax questions correctly. (Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting) |
| Example numbers in a chatbot | Keeps your details private, but the answer isn't for your case. You still redo the math with your real numbers yourself. |
| Cloud tax and filing apps | Built around an account, and often around access to your tax data. Rarely deep on Øresund. |
| Sweden-only tools | The wrong country when you work in Denmark. |
| One pension provider's app | Shows their savings, not your tax, tax card or take-home pay. |
| An English-speaking advisor | Works, but costs hundreds to thousands of kroner. Too much for every small question.Typical prices: DKK 800–1,500 to review a tax return, and 1,500–3,000 for a cross-border consultation. (The Danish Dream, 2025) |
| Pengeklar | Your real numbers, on your iPhone, in your language. Official Danish sources and tested calculators, Øresund included. |
How a trustworthy answer is built
You ask in your language
The AI on your iPhone works out what your question needs: which rules, which tax year, which calculation.
Official facts are looked up
Rules, rates and thresholds come from checked tax-year rules stored on your iPhone, taken from official agency pages, never from the AI's memory.
A calculator does the numbers
Take-home pay and Øresund day counts come from calculators written in normal code and tested against the agencies' own tools.
No source, no answer. If nothing official supports an answer, Pengeklar says so and points you to Skat or an advisor. Every answer quotes the official sentence it relies on and links straight to it, so you can check it yourself in one tap.In a US review, two leading tax-prep chatbots gave inaccurate or irrelevant answers to complex tax questions up to half the time (IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service, citing the Washington Post)
Ask about your own case
Real questions people ask online. Pick one to see how Pengeklar answers.
Coming to the App Store for iPhone. For newcomers, long-time residents and Øresund commuters.
What it uses and needs
Official sources only
No blogs, no forums. Every answer quotes the official sentence it relies on, with the tax year, the date it was last checked and a link to the official page. Calculations show their working line by line.

Questions
Does my data leave my iPhone?
No. The app never connects to the internet. You can check it in Airplane Mode. App Privacy Report should list no websites other than Apple's for the App Store and subscriptions.
Can Apple or anyone else read my data?
No. The AI runs on your iPhone, and your data is encrypted with a key that never leaves it. Anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open the app, so keep a passcode on it.
Can you see my tax questions?
No. There's no account, and nothing you type reaches us. We only have your email if you join the waitlist here.
Does it work offline?
Yes, always. It never needs the internet.
Is this financial advice?
No. It gives general information and calculations from official sources, and never recommends a pension fund or investment. For unusual cases it points you to Skat or a tax advisor.
Why not Skat's site, a guide, a chatbot or a tax app?
Each covers only part of it. Pengeklar brings together your language, your real numbers, official sources and tested calculators, all on your iPhone. Cloud models are larger, but its accuracy comes from sources and calculators, not model size.
How do answers stay up to date?
Through App Store updates. Every answer shows its tax year and checked date, and the app warns you if its rules are from an earlier tax year.
Does it cover Sweden?
Only for Øresund cases at launch, where you live in Sweden and work in Denmark. Sweden-only topics come later.
Which pension questions does it answer?
The basics of folkepension and ATP at launch, from borger.dk and pensionsinfo.dk. It never recommends a pension fund, product or investment.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone 15 Pro or newer on iOS 26.1 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Android isn't supported.
When does it launch, and in which languages?
It's in development for iPhone. You can ask in any language Apple Intelligence supports. The app's menus are English at first, with Danish later. Join the waitlist to hear when it's ready.
